The London Sporting Club has appointed We Are Disrupt to deliver The Heraean, an arm of the network which brings together female leaders from across sport and business.
The London Sporting Club is a network that brings together senior leaders from across sport and business. Members include elite sportsmen and women, rights holders, brands, media owners, agencies and other industry businesses. It is situated in Morton’s, in the heart of London, with more clubs to be announced in 2018.
The purpose of The Heraean is to accelerate gender equality in sport and business. It will do this by: creating a platform for female leaders from across sport and business to come together to inspire, learn from and support one another; increasing visibility of inspirational female role models from across sport; and driving awareness of the commercial opportunity of women’s sport. Founding members include Vicky Gosling OBE, Christine Ohuruogu MBE and Crista Cullen MBE.
Ian Stafford, Founder and Chairman of The London Sporting Club, commented: “We are committed to making The London Sporting Club a diverse network of leaders from across sport and business. The Heraean provides another opportunity for women to be part of our network, as well as a platform for us to increase visibility of inspirational women in sport and champion the commercial opportunity. We are very much looking forward to working with We Are Disrupt to make this all happen.”
Emma Lax, Managing Director of We Are Disrupt, commented: “We are very excited to be appointed by The London Sporting Club to deliver The Heraean, which will enable the club to continue to diversify its membership as well as creating a platform to champion women’s sport. Our team are passionate about the role that sport can play in accelerating gender equality and we are excited about the opportunity to partner with Ian and the rest of the team at The London Sporting Club to achieve this.”
